In collaboration with Orange Buensuceso, Natalia Eccheverri, Kevin Young Lee, Adrianna Navarro and Ivan Valin, Al tackled this project which required ingenious architectural planning and design to fully utilize the water flows on the site of a 17 hectare residential neighborhood in Kolding. The solution cleverly manipulated the landscape to fold and turn, creating an undulating topography that permits drainage and flooding to occur naturally. The design was carefully conceived to permit allotment gardens and vegetated roofs to be watered naturally, thereby allowing crops and bio-mass to be produced to serve local food and energy needs.
